Elyasse Elmeeyuf-0873 and Erika Guzman-Celli’s preliminary task 2013/14

Induction Task Work:

In these 2 weeks of Media classes we have written a narrative, written a script (to portray our narrative), filmed our script and edited it to a finished product.

Erika’s narrative:

Denis’s mother decided Denis (who was hit by cancer) was depressed presumably because she rarely left the house, she spent quite a lot of time in a bed, reading the same book over and over, ate infrequently and devoted a bit of her abundant free time thinking about death. So Denis’s mother has enough and tells her to go out more, to enjoy life, but denis refuses. So due to the disagreement an argument evolves with the result of Denis mother crying, but then denis feels bad for what she had caused and apologises…

Erika’s Script:

Mother approaching her daughter while she attentively watches tv

Mum: that’s it Denis, you haven’t been out of this house in a month.

Denis: mum, I refuse to go out

Mum: one of the symptoms of depression is disinterest in activities

Denis: mum what you on about? Please just let me watch eastenders. After all it’s an activity.

Mum: no, television is passivity

Denis: ugh, mum stop bothering me

Mum: hazel, you deserve a life, you need to make friends, get out of the house and live your life

Denis: mum I’m not normal like the rest of my friends I have disease hocked onto me.

Mum: Denis, you are more than capable of fighting this, you’re a strong girl and I believe in you

Denis: what’s the point I’m going to dye soon

Mum starts to cry

Mum: Denis please don’t say this, you know how I hate it when you’re so negative

Denis turns of the TV

Denis: mum I didn’t mean to hurt you, it’s, it’s just that why me?

Mum: Denis, you are a strong girl don’t you ever forget this, you will defeat this, I’m by your side

Denise wipes her mums tires, the hugs her

Denise: I love you

Mum: I love you too

character disctription

Denis: she’s a teen who lets her disease tremble over her until her mother imprinted sense into her.

Mum: like any other  mum, she’s supportive and always seeks the positive, and encourages her daughter to live a normal life.
